The Problem

The Solution

Planning and leading the design process

Interviews with Patients and Medical Teams

Two dermatologists from Korea University Hospital, two elderly patients (70+, disabled), and three guardians facilitating hospital visits.

Key features from insights

User Flow

Low-Fi Wireframing

User Testing

Two rounds of user tests with the same guardians and patients. In the 1st round, I tested how users navigate the whole product and how they use it. A main goal was knowing if this solution is usable and efficient for both patients and affiliated specialists. In the 2nd round, I tested details, including questionnaires for the diagnosis, camera settings, UI design for disease information, and hospital recommendations.

Takeaways

Clear UX Writing

This service helps users navigate hospital services efficiently, providing focused and action-oriented information. I prioritized simplicity, using user-friendly terms to avoid confusion. By considering other app services' language tone, I understood the significance of word selection and tone to enhance user-friendliness.

Design considering the amount and characteristics of information

I conducted surveys with patients and doctors to assess information relevance across screens. I implemented taps to present disease info data sets separately. This process refined my approach to crafting customer-centric solutions.

Documentation for Collaboration

As a design lead, I convinced doctors, AI experts, and developers of my design choices through documentation. I held weekly meetings to showcase the rationale and design process, gathering feedback and involving team members in decision-making.

To develop in the future

Enhance accessibility and usability

Ensure that individuals with diverse physical and cognitive abilities have equal access to and can effectively use the product, fostering inclusivity in healthcare resources. Promote a better user experience for all through clear design, easy navigation, and inclusive features.

Documentation and design library

Create a comprehensive and user-friendly repository of design assets and documentation. Dedicate additional effort to detailed documentation, providing clear guidelines, best practices, and usage instructions. This will serve as an invaluable reference for team members, fostering consistency and efficiency.

Research on personalization of healthcare services

Delve deeper into understanding the intricacies of tailoring healthcare services to individual needs. Conduct more interviews and surveys to gather insights from healthcare professionals and patients alike, aiming to identify specific pain points and preferences in personalization.
